The "Final" Final Draft: Dwarven Holidays Wargame is Finished (Mostly)

Dwarven Holidays Wargame is nearly done!

They say that writing a book is never actually finished; it’s just abandoned in a state of exhaustion. At Pandyman Entertainment, we prefer to say it has been "tactically surrendered to the printer."

I am thrilled (and slightly terrified) to announce that the writing and editing for Dwarven Holidays Wargame is officially complete!

The Never-Ending Story

I’ve spent so much time deep in the mechanics of Dwarven Holidays that I’ve started measuring my own life in "beards per gallon." When I say it’s finished, I mean it in the way a gamer says "one last quest"—we all know there’s a 90% chance I’ll be waking up at 3:00 AM wondering if a particular rule for Axe-Throwing-Under-The-Mistletoe is 100% balanced.

But for now? The Word document is closed. The red pen is out of ink. Hera (my trusty laptop) is finally allowed to run something other than Affinity Publisher for five minutes without catching fire.

A Hero’s Journey (via a Laptop)

As many of you know, this project has seen some drama. My previous laptop, Zeus, died a tragic, irony-rich death by electrical surge. Since then, Hera has taken up the mantle, stoically processing every table, stat block, and lore entry. She’s earned a cool-down period, but knowing the schedule, she’ll be back to work by Friday.

Fuelling the Edit

This book wouldn’t have been possible without a very specific, very loud soundtrack. While the Dwarves were busy celebrating, I was powered by a global rotation of bands. From the Japanese punk energy of StoneLeek to the US vibes of Don’t Panic, the local UK talent of Lacey, and the Aussies in Forever On High—it’s been a truly international effort to get this over the line. Also adding some German awesomeness in SIBBI HIER!

If you find a typo, just assume it’s a specific Dwarven dialect I invented while listening to a particularly heavy bass line.

What’s Next?

Now that the "word-smithing" is done, we move into the next phase. You lot can finally look forward to seeing the chaos of Dwarven Holidays on your own tables soon.

I’m off to clear the "chaos zone" that is my desk. I won’t be painting any miniatures—for the sake of the hobby, we all know that’s for the best—but I might actually find my keyboard under all these rule-books.
